The Spire is a multi-purpose community venue located on the pedestrianised High Street in the heart of Poole. We provide space for events, classes, clinics and activities which benefit the people of the surrounding area. The centre also contains Wesley’s – a popular cafe serving a variety of hot and cold food and drinks six days a week.
The Spire was created during a seven year, three phase development. The former High Street Methodist Church building was extensively modernised internally plus a new annex was added at the rear. Still owned and operated by Poole Methodists, the centre is run with a Christian ethos but all are welcome whether of other faiths or no faith.
We are particularly keen for people who use the building to get to know other groups and feel part of The Spire community. Many small local groups and charities share common goals and issues. Groups using The Spire often find that by collaborating with other each other they can achieve more than they could on their own.
Facilities at The Spire include a 250 seat auditorium, 2 medium sized function halls and a variety of smaller rooms to suit groups of all sizes. We currently accommodate exercise classes, training courses, health clinics, craft groups, charity offices, children’s groups, community choir practices, and musical performances amongst many others. Whether you need a space for a one off meeting, a weekly club, or a venue to perform a play, The Spire can provide it.
Alongside hire of rooms, we also provide a catering service within The Spire using the Wesley’s team. From teas and coffees for meetings, through buffet lunches to full dinners and performance interval refreshments, if you have a catering requirement for your group please discuss it with us.
